The Fox - Sometimes, something really connects…
On 27th December 2025, we posted on our social media channels a ten second video of the injured “Rehoboth Fox” eating medicine infused dog biscuits late at night on Christmas Eve.
The fox approached us in mid-December, holding up its injured foreleg and asking for help.
Assisted by the “Lets Talk Foxes” group, who supplied homeopathic anti-biotics and advice on how to establish a secure feeding station, (including a hard-boiled egg as an alarm if other would-be eaters came along) that would keep squirrels and birds away and encourage the fox to take his medicine and hopefully recover.
If we had used a trap and taken the fox to a vet, we understand he would have been euthanised. The fox has been a familiar presence for at least four to five years.
The reaction to our video clip and why we were doing this has been astonishing, greatly exceeding any other Rehoboth posting to date.
Over 11,600 people have viewed the clip, with our number of Facebook followers breaking the 1,000 mark. In total we now have over 1,800 people following our three channels.
In addition, we are now working with leading wildlife photographer Rosie Dutton and a whole new group of local residents, (many of whom are very familiar with this fox).
The video and a selection of Rosie’s photographs are show below:
