“The Population of Farsley” 1811

Last month our research team, discovered and photographed the original copy of “The Population of Farsley” compiled on Monday 27th May 1811.

The book has nine closely (small) written pages commencing with George Hainsworth (who was part of a family of eleven).

We believe George was the person responsible for the census completion as a closing page (in the same handwriting) also carries the title “George Hainsworth, Overseer”.

There are close to 1100 Farsley people in the census; 565 males and 529 females.

The census can be downloaded from the button below.
