Activity by the coachload…

The previous time a coach arrived full of volunteers at the Rehoboth was on Tuesday 26th April 2022 when Leeds Rhinos staff and players spent the afternoon volunteering in the Rehoboth

Thanks to our friends at “Volunteering Matters”, we had a coachload of volunteers from Aviva arrive on Thursday 1st October 2026 for four hours, where we planned to complete a whole range of autumn tasks and to commence landscaping in the “Old Ground”.

We were also are joined by Aviva staff on Tuesday 29th September thanks to our accreditation on their staff volunteering locations.

The Aviva coach pulled up and 34 volunteers, from all over the UK and one who had flown in from Poland tackled five different work areas as five different teams.

Each team worked with our own experienced volunteers, 12 of whom were participating

The weather was glorious and every task was completed, these included:

1. Strimming as self-seeding has now finished. Team of 8.

2. Leaf gathering and placing in leaf cages and bags. Team of 8.

3. Placing gravel on "bald patches “on paths. Team of 5.

4. Removing grass by hand from paths (kneeling pads provided). Team of 5.

5. Clearing soil and pebbles in our "Old Section" for recycling. Team of 8-10, a new fragment of gravestone was discovered and shown in the slideshow photographs, it reads “wife of Ca”.

The gallery of photographs show the spirit of the day, finishing with a group photo taken in exactly the same spot as that with Leeds Rhinos four and a half years earlier.
